The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) has prepared their 2026 Annual Billing Cycle for registered ECSA persons. As such, the COET has to notify members that ECSA will not be accepting any direct voluntary Association (VA) membership submissions from members.

ECSA submissions will only be accepted from the COET as a VA.
Members who are not in good standing with the COET will forfeit their ECSA discount and only be eligible for another discount in April 2027, subject to the ECSA Governing Council's approval.

Kindly note that a list of all our members (registered persons) as required by ECSA for their annual update, along with member’s current status as of 31 October 2025, has already been submitted to ECSA in October 2025.

The next list required by ECSA is expected to be requested by ECSA in November 2026. This means that registered persons who joined COET after October 2025 may not be granted the ECSA discounted annual fee in 2026 as ECSA bases their records on the COET membership status list of October 2025.

This is the way the ECSA cyclical works and is not due to COET.
